Industry Experience

When I was nine years old I had the dream of becoming a fashion designer. I knew I wanted to learn how to sew, so I signed up for 4-H and made my very first project and there was no turning back. In high school I spent countless hours behind the sewing machine making new outfits for school and for different design competitions. I knew that this was a career I wanted to pursue, so I started taking college courses in high school and continued learning as much as I could about fashion design.
Throughout my time at Kansas State University I furthered my skills in fashion design, as well as fashion business, by doing a double specialization in those areas. During my time in the fashion studies program I discovered a love for technical design and pattern making. I worked several jobs involving pattern making and technical design as well.
I am now an Assistant Technical Designer within the industry and I'm loving every second of it. I still continue to push myself to always be learning and evolving in order to stay effective in the ever changing fashion industry.
